Expectations
I'm gonna tell that keeping this updated ALL the time...will definitely be on my early priority list. It isn't that I don't want to write online...I just sometimes forget to go to my computer. I am comfortable using a blog...but I am more comfortable with a pad of paper. That is how I start everthing...oh well...such is change.
But anyways...I am looking forward to our literature circles. I always enjoy hearing other peoples input. Especially when it comes to such a creative subject such as education. Everyone has a different experience...and it is always good to hear of different understandings of philosophies and how one comes upon it. I was raised in a very rural town...where everyone knows everyone's business. It wasn't diverse at all...we really didn't have a seperation of church and state because everyone was comfortable with religion in school. It was very different from what my northern friends tell me. I come from school where a graduation percent is about 66%. Followed by a 35% population that go onto an institute of higher learning. Then I believe it is about 8.5% go for an undergrad degree. It is amazing to here of all the opportunities that others had for education that our school didn't offer...because the students didn't need it. However...although I had to strive for college bound classes...with the new state graduation requirements...I know my school will suffer because of the inability of the students to take those classes. Maybe I will explain more later. But there are still many changes that will be coming to the state...and it should be interesting seeing the different counties react.
